    Hey there ANORAAK,

Hope you’re well today and thank you for your feedback ??

File operations would definitely increase I/O as the optimized images are replacing the ones on your server, but this should be only temporary until the smushing of your images is complete and it shouldn’t really slow down your website.

How many images did you smush and was this also after the the image optimization?

    Please let me know ??

    Best regards,
    Bojan

    Hi Bojan,

I smushed at least +/- 800 images if I remember correctly. My hosting provider is stablehost.com After image optimisation my website became really slow – for 2 days. Then I understood that WP Smush causing this issue. I contacted tehnical support and they told me that there is high I/O. They told me that plugin causing this. Then I disabled WP Smush and problem was solved.

    PHP version ins 5.5

    Hey again ANORAAK,

Thanks for responding, we really appreciate it ??

Any feedback that could possibly help us figure out the cause for this would help us improve this plugin for others too.

With that being said its unlikely that this is related specifically to your server config only. It is possible that some other plugin in combination with WP Smush is conflicting and causing this.

We’d really appreciate if you would want to run a conflict test to see if this is happening with only using Smush and no other plugins with default WP Theme.

    Please let me know ??

    Best regards,
    Bojan
