• This app is otherwise fine but becomes extremely and frustratingly buggy and slow when you build a large form with it.

I used it to make a 4 page application form for a finance company that had a lot of conditional logic within it and it was a hellishly slow experience.

To clarify – the editor becomes buggy and need to be reloaded as it lags and hangs for minutes at time. Then the form itself becomes ‘jumpy’ and slow for users on the front end.

WPForms also acknowledges this is a problem but still offers no ideal solution and it’s been almost 4 months now. They did suggest to upgrade our hosting and implement other wordpress site speed enhancements, but I have already covered all of that with the hosting we use together with the SEO optimisation process. The only options left are to upgrade the hosting (trying this first) or split the form up, which is going to create a tonne of work.

Overall can’t recommend this app for anyone who’s trying to build any kind of substantial form a it has wasted so much of my time and been very frustrating to use.

  • Hey guwop,

I really apologize for the performance issues you encountered!

Performance is really important to us and in 2018 we improved the form builder performance, in many cases by 200-300%. We regularly have users that use hundreds of fields and have a great experience both in the form builder and with embedded forms.

In some cases, with very large number of fields, we still have progress to make and we’ll be looking into that in the future.

In the meantime, if there’s any other way that we can assist please feel welcome to continue the conversation on any existing support ticket you may have (or to open a new ticket if that’s easier for you). Thanks!
