not trying to blog

I’ve been working all day to set up this website and it looks pretty good accept it keeps providing space to blog. I’m only interested in putting up a business website, not blogging. I used the 2012 theme. How can I change this. It’s also not allowing me to upload a different title image. I was able to do an original one but it won’t remove it and show a space for uploading a new one. The old one just keeps showing up. I also called to register the domain name and haven’t heard anything back. How long does that take?
