Hi there,

I’m unsure what I’m doing wrong here. I want to use an ACF field to populate the og:image tag of a post. When I choose Image From Custom Field, and then the name of the ACF field in the “Use Custom Field For Image”, then the result is:

https://POST_ID

When POST_ID is the attachment post ID. How do I get it to use the asset URL?

Also, if I have two different post types with different custom field IDs I want to us, how do I change this setting on per post type?

If not possible through the admin interface can I use filters or functions to achieve this result?

@markdaviesonholiday This is happening because ACF stores the Attachment ID in the post meta instead of the Image URL. This happens even when you specifically select Image URL in the Edit Field screen. This could be a mistake by ACF or intentional, you may want to contact them to find out if it’s a bug on their end.

Currently, All in One SEO Pack fetches the contents of the custom field from the post meta and displays that as the og:image. This assumes that the entry in the custom field is an image URL. We don’t check to see if it’s an ID and then look up the URL for that ID (which may not even be possible with ACF).

I’ve opened feature request in Github for us to look into whether we can support ACF Image fields. You can follow the issue here – https://github.com/semperfiwebdesign/all-in-one-seo-pack/issues/2779

Do you guys expose any filters I can use to find the URL in my own code?

A great feature would be for you to allow a function name as an option for this data, then developers could customise however they wanted.

You can use the filter hook aiosp_opengraph_meta to access the OG meta info.

Hi sorry, I’m still encountering a problem. When I use the aiosp_opengraph_meta filter, only one parameter is passed – “value”. None of the other parameters are being passed, so I can’t pick and choose when I apply my custom code.

I’m using this as a reference:
