Not understanding Shortcodes Ultimate re slider config

  • Hi ??

    I’ve installed Shortcodes Ultimate 2.2.4

    What Im not understanding though is the Nivo Slider configuration as to how I get the images and captions into it?

    Options given:
    width
    height
    link=”file|attachment|caption” (optional)
    speed (1000 = 1 second)
    delay (1000 = 1 second)
    p – post ID (optional)
    effect=”random|boxRandom|fold|fade”

    Example Given:
    [nivo_slider width=”640″ height=”400″ link=”file” effect=”boxRandom”]

    how does it know what images and captions?

    Sorry if it seems like a silly question but I’m really stuck

    This slider uses images, attached to current post\page.
    Also, you can specify p attribute, to get images from any post, you want.

    ok that makes sense.

    I might have to look at another way of putting the slider into my static front page then as I want to use images that are attached to a number of different posts and then have those images in the slider clickable to go to relevant post

    am a bit lost at this point as I am fairly new to WP to begin with (but not totally green), but not ever used a slider

    In this case, you can use other plugins, that are better for this. For example – https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/easy-nivo-slider/
