• With release of WP 6.4 some admin translations for nb_NO were a bit late, especially the ones for the about page.

After the translation became complete and a new core langauge pack was created, I could install the updated package on my nb_NO sites, all with this plugin active.

Result: The about. page still has English text.

Deactivated this plugin and looked again: A translations is there (Norwegian Bokm?l).

Reactivated this plugin: All above strings are back in English.

Looking back in time/memory, I may have observed this update problem with some plugins/themes, but not able to replicate now.

Used plugin a few months, about 10 of 30 sites affected. Ordinary OPcache. Not other plugins for (faster) translations.

    Heya, thanks for your report!

I just reproduced this with a fresh installation of 6.3 and upgrading to 6.4 and was now able to spot the issue! Expect a new release of the plugin shortly.

In the meantime, uninstalling and re-installing the plugin should fix this.

Just a quick update, version 1.0.7 is now released!

Again, uninstalling & re-installing the plugin should fix any site where translations are still stale.

Installed the update ro 1.0.7, but it did not fix it by itself. Deactivated, activated again, no fix. Deactivating, deleting, reinstalling and activating fixed it, as yu say it also did before. So I I’m not quite sure what i is supposted to have changed. But may be the new version will jusr not get into stalled translations with next translation update. But if it still is…

I had hoped it would be very robust and able to fix it itself. Now soon to be merged. I also see that many checks, just in case something, will go against the ability to be faster than current core implementation.

Yeah I should have clarified that it actually can’t fix itself because the plugin doesn’t contain an update mechanism to detect stale translations. Or at least not something I am able to implement in the 60 minutes since your bug report. Either uninstall & reinstall the plugin, update translations, or uninstall & reinstall language packs to fix things.

Also keep in mind that this is only an issue with the plugin, the proposed core implementation works differently and would not have such an issue, because it does not generate files on its own, so completely safe.

I see, thank you for the quick response and clarification. This will be great.
