It seems Category Icons still works fine, but not the Custom Query String (CQS)

I use CQS and it still appears to work fine after upgrade.

I would check over this list of 2.1 plugin compatibility and see what plugins are known to work and which ones are not with 2.1

CQS seems to work – just be careful not to have conflicting settings with the Reading Options > FrontPage.
If you set a static Page as frontpage, do NOT set a custom query for is_home: it will overwrite the Page in front.

moshu, isn’t that the whole point? to have ‘conflicting’ setting with the front page? so that the ‘home’ page yields different posts per page than other pages (search, archives, categories, etc)?

I guess there is some misunderstanding: if you set “home” as a static page – you cannot use a string that is based on “is_home” conditional. You cannot have 2 (two) home pages. However, you can use all the other conditionals in CQS.

Hi, Category icons isn’t working for me at all, even without custom query string. shows up in options, but no icons on the posts (I only use icons for one category, featured — don’t know if this matters).

Anyhow, I’m also looking for a category icons hack or an alternative plug-in that works with Ella, so if anybody’s got any ideas, many thanks!
