First off, thanks for the great plugin!

My site has about 1100 images, I checked “migrate existing files” and clicked “upload existing media”. It went very slow uploading a few images per hour, now after a few days it has stopped with 708 images left to go.

I tried re-checking and re-clicking those buttons but no change today. Is there a way to get the rest of the images uploaded without using FTP?

Are those images attached to posts?

Thanks for the reply, yes they are attached to posts.

How big are these images? My guess without looking at the site would be that you’ve run out of /tmp space or memory.

Can you share your domain name?

The image sizes range from 3kb up to about 50kb.
    And the domain is vertufineart.com

Took a look at your server, yep, you’re out of tmp space which could do it. Looks like you have a noisy neighbor there. I’m going to take a deeper look into that, but I cleared the tmp folder so that should work now.

Excellent, thank you Mika. I’ve just restarted it now so will let you know if they continue uploading.

Just reporting back that after a few hours the number of existing files to upload is still 708.

Hrm. What happens if you turn on debugging in WordPress?

    Thread Starter maikunari

    (@maikunari)

I turned on debugging with the wp-config file and the only output I’m getting is from the HubSpot plugin:

    .../vertufineart.com/wp-content/plugins/hubspot/inc/hs-notice.php on line 20

Also, I’m curious about the ‘noisy neighbour’ you mentioned, is that another site on the same server that’s using a lot of resources?

is that another site on the same server that’s using a lot of resources?

Basically. It happens now and then, but it’s usually easy to sort out.

Was there anything that changed when it stopped working? Like did you add a new plugin (ewww-image-optimizer maybe)? There isn’t a reason it should just ‘stop’ working, and since it’s not showing they’re updated in the Media page (I’m assuming at least you’re not getting the green check box for those images) and it’s not updating the post content, that just means it doesn’t think it needs to run for some reason which is weird.

Is there anything I can do on my end to sort out the noisy neighbour?

Also, Dreamspeed CDN is the last plugin I installed, ewww image optimzer was already installed and activated. Could that be an issue?

It’s… possible. In general, the next step of debugging is turn off every other plugin and manually go back to tell it to migrate files.

This info may be useful, when I tried it just now (clicking migrate existing files) the notification bar at the bottom of the page says “Waiting for vertufineart.com…” for about a minute then it just reloads the homepage.

Also, I remember now turning WP Super Cache back on about two days after starting the process – so that may have been why it stopped? I deactivated super cache before doing the above.

Will continue with the other plugins and let you know the results.

I have heard before that super cache does weird things. Let me know!

Sorry for the delay getting back to this, i haven’t been able to get the plugin to run again.

Just to update what I’ve tried, deactivated all other plugins, set back to default theme, de-activated then re-activated DreamSpeed plugin.

Each time I click the “Upload existing media” after a short wait, maybe 45 sec, it refreshes the page and loads up the homepage.

Is it possible to upload via FTP or something then do a find and replace in the DB?
