Not very consistent

  • Yoast SEO has plenty of cool features. It has help us a lot.
    But in the last monthes, it has been very difficult. The first versions of the 7 version (7.0.0 until 7.0.02) created a lot of problems that we are still suffering today.

    I do not know if the plugin is now helping or hurting the website.

    Edit : I removed a star. I made an update and the configuration for the /category/ was lost. This plugin is unreliable. I cannot trust it at 100% anymore.

    Yoast SEO v7.0 had a bug that made your attachment pages indexable. This is not desirable as Google may include them in the search results and consider them as thin content.     There was that and the config that was lost. For example the removal of /category/ in the url.
    That one was hard to forget.

    In Yoast SEO v7.7.3, you’ll find the feature to remove the prefix /category/ from URLs under “SEO > Search Appearance > Taxonomies”. If you’ve ecountered any issues using this feature, we’d kindly ask you to create a new topic in the WordPress forum so that our support team can look into it.
