Not work with multisite

  • Hi, I’m trying to install your plugin on my site. I use WordPress Multisite. On my second community site, I installed buddypress. Now I would like to extend the functionality with your plugin. But when I activate the plugin I get this error:

    BuddyMeet and BuddyPress need to share the same network configuration.

<ol><li>You should <a href="https://www.pilloledolanda.it/community/wp-admin/plugins.php">deactivate</a> BuddyMeet</li><li>Make sure BuddyMeet is activated at the same level than BuddyPress on the network</li>

    I have not installed buddypress in the entire network but only within the “community” site, this in order not to weigh down the mother site, the buddypress functions must be seen only within the community and not in the first site, also because the first site has no user management but only display of posts (blog).
    Can this plugin only work in the network version?

    I have exactly the same setup and problem, but with BuddyBoss. Please find a solution.

    Hi, @bjoernluessow since the support does not respond, let’s see if we can understand the problem for ourselves. I use BuddyBoss and it works great in my installation. What version of WpMu do you use? Domain or folders? I use folders because my hosting is unable to have ssl in subdomains, so I use the installation with folders to solve the ssl problem. I don’t know if there is a correlation in the various versions of WpMu

    Hi @sygy88, thanks for your engagement. I do not think it has something to do with ssl. I have a multisite with folders/subdirectories and ssl is working. I have the feeling the BuddyMeet plugin is not looking at the subdirectory place to check the place of the installation of BuddyBoss/BuddyPress. I hope that the plugin owner is working a a solution still. @tdakanalis

    @bjoernluessow, maybe I expressed myself wrong or the google translator did not translate in the best way. I didn’t say that the problem is the SSL for this “bug” but I meant that I use the folder installation because my hosting has ssl problems in the subdomains, I was looking for a correlation between the types of installation (subdomains or folders) and you I explained why I used subfolders. Surely it is as you say the BuddyMeet does not succeed in realizing the structure of the multisite well.
    Ah I was thinking that I wrote the following code in the “wp-config.php” file

    define('BP_ROOT_BLOG', 2);
define('WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true);
define('MULTISITE', true);
define('SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', false);

    Especially the first line that defines the obligation to run BuddyPress on the second site (my community)
    Could this be for you or the author? I should try to delete this definition.

    and sorry for the too late response. What the warning says is that buddymeet and buddypress have to be installed / activated in the same way. Either both network activated (multisite installation) or both locally activated (local installation in each wordpress site).

    Hi! Thanks for the reply.
    I, as I said, use wordpress Multisite and I installed buddypress in single version and not on the net. I activate Buddymeet in the control panel on the single site and not on the network. So I can’t understand where I’m wrong.

    I planning to perform some tests regarding the multisite installation of the plugin in order to address the issue that you mention. The upcomming version will be released at the end of the month.

    Hello, i have buddypress and buddymeet installed in the same way as @sygy88 … first on a subsite that was not the rootsite (site id1)… did’n work…
    So I tried also by activating buddypress and buddymeet on the rootsite…
    No luck with that either…
    Does buddymeet have a way to define the site ID where buddypress is active on the network?

    I’ve have the same problem and not even with a multi-site.

    I have Buddyprees, S2Member and BuddyMeet.

    I deactivated them all when searching and fixing another minor plugin conflict, but now that I re-active them (in any order) I get the warning that buddymeet and buddypress are “not on the same network configuration”.

    I even tried deleting them and re-adding the plugins once through the WP plugin loader and once by uploading the files directly, and I still get the same error message.

    The plugins are both installed in the same WP-content folder and its not a multi site.

    Any suggestions?
