    when attempting to activate the plugin, it throws a long list of errors

    Thanks for reporting.

    The errors you’re are getting are not related to YouTube Showcase but some other plugin or theme, possibly The7 theme.

    Do you have this theme installed? If yes, please deactivate the theme and report the results.

    If no, deactivate all other plugins and report the results.

    thanks, this does look like the7 theme related problem.
    still it’s confusing why other plugins don’t have such compatibility problems.

    Because the other plugins are well-written or do not use the functions listed in the error. The theme uses an old version of the library.

    No worries. We will make modifications on our end to make sure our users do not get compatibility issues. Please wait for the next version.
