  • Have you tried disabling other plugins to make sure there are no conflicts? It’s working for me on 4.3.1.

    Hi
When our webhotel updated server from php 5.4. to php 5.6 post-expirator plugin did’t work anymore. WP-version is now 4.4. but the problem became before wp-update.

We have the latest version of post-expirator (Version 2.1.4). Is there coming update to fix the php 5.6 problem?

I uploaded a copy of the site in another server where runs php 5.4 and there it works fine (until they maybe also update the php…)

    with best regards
    Kari Tiilikainen

P.S. we really need updating because the post-expirator plugin is the onlyone that works in our purposes.

Please include an error logs you have. Thanks.

    public_html –> error_log

[27-Nov-2015 06:20:18 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Unknown: Cannot use output buffering in output buffering display handlers in Unknown on line 0
[23-Dec-2015 23:00:23 UTC] PHP Warning: POST Content-Length of 208004128 bytes exceeds the limit of 134217728 bytes in Unknown on line 0

hmm .. have you checked your other plugins? I don’t do anything with output buffering.

    Hi!

Other plugins works fine. I have done a new installation for post-expirator but it don’t help

Same problem, newest WP version and no errors/warnings in the log. The plugin just doesn’t expire posts anymore. I suppose this started after moving the site to a new web hotel, tried different PHP versions 5.3-5.6.x.

Expired posts are not changed in to “Drafts” but stays at “Published”.

    Please fix.

Anyone having trouble with setting the expiration dates in Post Expire? When I set enable the expire in a post, the years in the expire drop down are all goofy. 1999-2006. To get the years current, I have the publish/update the post several times before the correct year can be selected.

php version deoes not fix the problem! I have testet with php 5.3 and without any other plugins – the post expirator is not working with wp 4.4.2!

For those experiencing this issue, first check to see if your WordPress environment has any errors with cron jobs. You can check by installing the WP Crontrol plugin and then navigate to Tools -> Cron Events and you’ll see an error at the top of the page if you have any.

Once you fix those errors, the Post Expirator plugin should work.
I just tested it on my WordPress 4.4.2 environment just fine.

    Hallo unireverse,
I have tried. Result: “Not Responding”. “Cron events trigger actions in your code. A cron event added using the form below needs a corresponding action hook somewhere in code, perhaps the functions.php file in your theme.” Cannot find any solution in the World wide web…
What did ypu fix in the WP environment?

See my messenge above. Not a solution, but the way to find a solution.

Had same problem: Post Expirator was creating the events to expire the posts, but the events wouldn’t execute when cron was firing. Did what unireverse suggested. Saw an error about not being able to spawn more http requests. Googled that. Turned out I was missing php5-curl on my installation. After I installed php5-curl and reloaded apache, the events started to get executed just fine.
