Not working?

    Hi,

    Added a redirection and at first it seemed to work and when I check the redirection in acp it gives me the green light. Yet, when I click an old link in my posts it gives me a 404 instead of redirecting and my rank seems to drop like a stone. It’s not a cache issue either as I have tried with other browsers and in incognito mode. Redirection is simply not working. Any advice? Thank you.

    For future reference, I had to check “ignore trailing slashes” in the settings. Had no idea. Unfortunately my rankings took a big blow because of this but at least I figured it out.

    Your source URLs must match exactly to whatever you use on your site. It sounds like your site wasn’t matching the redirect you created because of the trailing slash. Any ranking will not be affected so quickly.

    Hi and thank you for the response. SO with the “ignore trailing slashes” setting checked, I should be fine now? Seems so anyways.
