PROBLEM: So i made an edit to my modal, clicked publish and refreshed the page the modal was supposed to load on.

The modal would not load. I read the ‘Getting started guide’ to see if i had missed anything from the last time – everything seems to be set up correctly.

Odd as it was working before i made a ‘spelling correction’ edit to the modals content

Link Your Implementation of Easy Modalhttps://branddesignagency.com/ [the contact link, top right
Describe what is supposed to happen – Click the contact link (top right and modal pops up. Its not a contact form, just text and hyperlink
Describe what is actually happening – After edit .. nothing pops up
If you have to click something on your page to get the modal to popup, please specify where.CONTACT link – top right

On a side note, i have also tried loading the modal, a test modal and a modal using the shortcode method, yet nothing comes up found here. I have also tried disabling all plugins etc… and all modal instances are set to SITEWIDE

  • Hey iwednesday,

I’m looking into this issue now!

    Thank you for your patience.

    iwednesday,

After doing some digging, if you’re not running the latest version of Easy Modal, I would update it and see if that solves your problem.

Otherwise, if we could get temporary admin access to your site, I’ll pass this on to the Lead Dev and get this worked out for you.

    Let me know, thank you!

    hi Waltmesser ,

    Any update on this matter?

Apologies iwednesday, I thought this matter had been resolved.

    Obviously not.

We’ll get this issue resolved today.

Sorry again, and thank you for being patient.

Hey Iwdnesday, just wanted to touch base and give you an update. What ive found is that for some reason the jQuery(document).ready() function is not being called. This generally means that the page never officially finishes loading, be it images loading in the background etc.

If i call the same function that is inside the doc.ready for easy modal your modals begin to work properly.

It is likely another plugin causing the doc.ready to fail to fire, but we should be able to add some code to your themes functions.php that will bypass this. I will let you know if i can get it working properly in a bit.

Thanks for the update. It could be the theme itself. Or do deactivated plugins still affect scripts being loaded?

Hey check your email, there was a typo in the functions.php file i created, an extra white space before the opening <?php tag which caused a PHP error and the site will not load including admin until it is removed.

That said the function i added should resolve your issues i believe once that space has been removed site should load fine and i can continue to resolve the issue for you.

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

    Hey Dan,

I got the email and its sorted now.

    Everything works smoothly thanks!!!

    i’l look in to why doc.ready isn’t being fired…

Once again, thanks for all you’ve done ??
