• Hi,
I have been trying different methods for disabling hot link:

1- Cpanel hotlink protection: Big crash and you have to restore the original .htaccess file to make your site run again.

2- Writing a code in Bulletproof Security Pro. Still nothing

3- So here was to give this plugin a try: Nothing gets protected.

This is what I have tried to test:
Opened the site that I have installed and activated this plugin on.
Then press CTRL+U and I see the source on the site.
Then found the source of an image on my site (wp-content/upload)and paste it in the browser.

An image in full ress without any protection.
I have even cleared my sites server cache + browser cache before making the test.

I am also running the latest version of WordPress at this moment: 3.6.1

  • @minoltian, first off let me say thank you for taking the time to test multiple scenarios before leaving your feedback. It’s valuable to me for beta testing and figure out why hotlinking is no longer working.

The problem might be as simple as where the redirect code is being written, or it could be specific to your server, your website, or your unique combination of software. On the other, it could be something affecting everybody. You’re welcome to fix the problem rather than just reporting it. That’s the beauty of the WordPress community, and the plugin community especially within the plugin community.

If there’s a problem, do us all a favour and fix it, or fork it but don’t just gripe about it.
