• I cannot get this plugin to work with my page. I currently am using the yada wiki plugin and want to have search results from each wiki page and an additional website of my choosing. Does this plugin not work with Yada Wiki? When I activate the plugin I get no search results, but will get them if bing plugin is deactivated. Can you help me solve this issue.

Did you follow the installation instructions? Bing is not a free service and you need to set up a search instance:

Yes. I created a custom search instance and put the config id in the settings on WordPress

Are you able to view results in the “Try out the search experience…” area in the search instance admin (not WordPress)?

Yes. It shows results for the additional website, but shows no results for my WordPress site. I have both URLs listed in the active list.

It doesn’t even look like the plugin is starting up on the search page.

Would you be fine sending me a screenshot of this page: https://3.15.190.249/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=wp_bing_search

Or provide me with login credentials so I can take a look?

If so, email to help at slipfire dot com

I emailed a screenshot to the email above.

    Thanks, I received it.

Please try replacing the API Endpoint with the default one listed on the settings page.

Let me know if that works.

That was unsuccessful. I have emailed you some credentials so you can take a look.

    Thanks. That helped.

It looks like you are using Bing Web Search. This plugin is designed for Bing Custom Search. Here’s the difference from their docs:

While Bing Web Search API allows you to search over the entire web, Bing Custom Search allows you to select the slices of the web that you want to search over and control the ranking when searching over your targeted web space. You can programmatically retrieve your custom search results with Bing Web Search API , using an additional query parameter.

You can sign up for Bing Custom Search here: https://www.customsearch.ai/

I signed up for Bing Custom Search using the URL above, but when I create my new instance and go to production to retrieve the endpoint it only provides me with a config id and no API key. Also testing out the search experience it retrieves results from my additional website and none from the WordPress site. I am still unsure what I am doing wrong

When viewing your instance, click on PRODUCTION then SUMMARY in the top menu. Scroll down to the bottom and under “Subscription keys” use the “Search Key”.

Looks like they changed the UI. I’ll update the plugin documentation.
