Not working for me

    Shows up as expected initially – text field with “Enter a location” placeholder. Then after a couple of seconds, placeholder changes to “Oops! Something went wrong.” and background is https://maps.gstatic.com/mapfiles/api-3/images/icon_error.png

    I have set up an API key but unfortunately there were no detailed instructions on setting this up so not sure if this is the issue. Steps I took in setting up API key:
    – in Google Cloud Platform, I created a project
    – enabled Places API to it, and also Maps Javascript API
    – created an API key
    – added the domain to Domain verification

  • Not sure if you found a fix for this but something that may help narrow it down…

    Using an incognito/inprivate browser window, pull up the developer tools using F12 and make sure you are on the ‘Console’ tab. Try using your autocomplete field as you have been and see if any errors pop up.

    I just set this up for the first time and discovered I needed to add the Maps JS API as well, using those developer tools.
