• Hi, I can’t seem to get the plugin to work. Im using wordpress 3.8, I’ve deactivated other plugins, and have checked that <?php wp_head(); ?> and wp_footer are where they should be. Setting everything to “x and below” (the most recent and below) and checking on three browsers (Firefox, IE, Chrome) no message comes up. Any suggestions much appreciated

    Hi @sjgknight

Please check your sites rendered source code in the browser to see if the plugins css and javascript files has been added to the site.

Also, if you can give me an url to your site, I could take a quick look.

Installed this plug-in today on one of my sites and it is not displaying the message that is configured for the non-supported browsers. Can you assist?

Quick update, I installed this plug-in several months ago on three other sites and it was working perfectly. All three sites are no longer displaying the message configured for non-supported browsers.

@mattias Hi I too have the same problem, have checked wp_head and wp__footer are there but still nothing comes up, when you are referring to check the CSS and javascript details to check can you provide more details? Happy for you to take a look at my site on its staging URL https://iconicmedia.com.au/rbr_prod/
This looks like a great plugin so look forward to getting it running on my site. Thanks!

    Hi,

It seems like there is some issue with the Cookie Jquery plugin I use in the plugin. IT works fine for most people, but seems to break for some.

I will see if I can find out why it is breaking and update you all when I know more.

    Hi @toddleweb

I’m sorry to hear it don’t work for you.

Version 3+ of the plugin have a completely new way of detecting browser that is more reliable and future proof.

Can you please do the following for me:

    1. Uninstall the plugin completely (not just deactivate, remove all files) and install again
    2. Check so you have the “cache” folder located in /wp-content/cache and that is has read and write permissions
    3. If you have the cache folder, do you see browscap.ini and//or cache.php in that folder?
    4. And last, please try the new debug option available in the plugin settings and let me know what it prints out, if it print out anything for you.

    Thanks

    Hi

I did all of the above and the plugin still doesn’t do anything

tested ‘https://browser-update.org&#8217; and that works fine

I would really like to get your plugin working if possible

    Hi,
I have the same problem – after upgrade the detection stopped working.
I am running this in WP 3.8.1
I have deactivated – uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin – did not help
I have also turned the debug on but did not get any messages to admin view (refreshed the page and tried several times)

    Page has following things
    https://********/wp-content/plugins/advanced-browser-check/css/style.css?ver=3.8.1

    https://********/wp-content/plugins/advanced-browser-check/js/jquery.cookie.js?ver=3.8.1

    https://********/wp-content/plugins/advanced-browser-check/js/script.js?ver=3.8.1

    <div class=’advanced-browser-check’ style=’display:none;’ data-url='{“abc_url”:”http:\/\/*********\/wp-admin\/admin-ajax.php”}’></div><script type=’text/javascript’ src=’https://********/wp-includes/js/hoverIntent.min.js?ver=r7′></script&gt;

Its not working for me also.

I`ve got that message with the DEBUG:
“Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted”

Ive checked the memory limit of the PHP, and it has 128M, ive change it to ‘-1’ and it worked.
But, when i changed it back to 128M the plugin is working fine again.

You need to check the memory that this plugin is using

I am having the same problem as BuSHari but I was not able to fix the issue by changing the memory limit.

    Same here:

PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 71 bytes) in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/advanced-browser-check/browscap/browscap.php on line 718, referer:
