Hello, I have enabled the plugin, connected and enabled “Add an opt-in checkbox to the checkout page”.

The problem is that no checkbox is added in the new block based checkout.
Any ideas if your plugin is already working with the new block based checkout?

    Thank you.

    Hello there,
Thank you for reaching out with your question about our plugin!

We appreciate your interest and wanted to address your inquiry. Currently, our plugin does not support block-based checkout. However, we recognize the value this feature could bring to our users and are happy to pass this along as a feature request for our development team to consider.

While we’re always exploring ways to enhance our plugin, it’s important to note that block-based checkout support is not foreseen for Q3. We truly appreciate your understanding and will keep you informed of any future developments regarding this feature.

Thank you for reaching out, and please feel free to ask if you have any other questions!

    Hello @supportomnisend

I understand what you are saying but the block based checkout was launched on WooCommerce 8.3 on 2023-11-17.

This feature is needed ASAP as all stores created after the release date are using the block based checkout by default. I know you can change to the legacy checkout but the block based checkout is 100% better and convert more.

I have investigated some competing companies and they still do not have it, it could be a way to stand out and get new clients.

The upgrade is not hard, is just a little of react and add a checkbox into the checkout.

Thank you for sharing your insights and for emphasizing the importance of block-based checkout support.

We understand that the feature is crucial, especially given its default status in WooCommerce 8.3. While we agree that this would be a valuable addition and could help us stand out, we currently do not have a specific ETA for when this feature will be available in our plugin. However, I want to assure you that it’s already in our backlog for future development.

We want to ensure that any updates we release are thoroughly tested and meet our quality standards, which sometimes takes longer than anticipated. Rest assured, we’ve noted your request, and we will continue to evaluate its feasibility as we plan future updates.

We appreciate your understanding and your continued support. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

    Hello @supportomnisend,

I understand but this is a bug on the actual plugin. This issue is not resolved.

Please update this ticket when the bug is solved.

    Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. I’d like to clarify that the functionality you’re referring to is currently not supported yet. While a bug typically refers to a flaw or error within the scope of features that are currently supported, this is not a bug but rather a feature that hasn’t been implemented yet. The block-based checkout functionality is not yet included in our plugin, and thus it’s not functioning as it would if it were part of our supported features. I hope this helps clarify why it’s not considered a bug.

Our product team has confirmed that support for checkout blocks is expected to be available in the fourth quarter (Q4). While we cannot provide a precise date, our teams are actively working on this and are committed to implementing it as soon as possible. You can anticipate its availability soon.

We have marked this support thread as resolved because it pertains to a future enhancement rather than an ongoing bug. However, we’ll be happy to notify you once the feature is available.

Thank you for your patience and for helping us improve. Feel free to let us know if you need any more information or assistance. We’re here to support you!

    Hello @supportomnisend,

I understand your definition of bug, but your plugin states that is for WooCommerce, and from  2023-11-17 WooCommerce is working in two modes, “classic checkout” and “block based checkout”.

So, this is more type of a bug, as your plugin at the time does not states any compatibility. If any user reads your plugin docs and install it using the block based checkout (the default checkout on new WooCommerce installations) the plugin does not add what it states it adds on the checkout. So this is misleading for most users, even for me that I’m a developer.

So for me, this is a bug.

Other plugins, add an explicit incompatibility https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-store-editing/customizing-cart-and-checkout/#incompatible-extensions so when editing the checkout, the user/dev can see that this plugin is only working in the classic checkout.

We can be here discussing if this is a bug or not ?? without reaching any common ground. Please don’t misunderstand my point. I’m trying to push this forward so you became a better business and we users/clients get better services.

    Thank you.
