• Hello,
I see that the Page View count plug-in is not yet tested for WP5.2.1. Can someone verify if it’s working? My Page View Counts are not displaying after upgrading WP. I can only see the spinning Page View Count icon next to each post. Please help as this is a key part of the site. Thanks.

    Update:
I had been running the latest version of the Page View Count plug-in successfully until I updated WordPress (same PHP and same MySQL versions).

?WordPress: 5.2.1 (requires 4.6 or greater) OK
?PHP version 5.6 (requires 5.6.0 or greater) OK
?MySQL version 5.0 (requires 5.6 or greater) NOT OK

–>Could MySQL version cause this? Sadly, my doman hosting says I’m on a legacy server and may need to pay to upgrade MySQL version from 5.0 to 5.6. I will confirm again tonight.

    Hello @easykorean

Have you tried clearing the site caching – purging it? The issue may be as simple as that.

There are no known issues with WP 5.2.1 and Page View Count

I am not sure about MySQL 5.0 (released in 2005) – that is a very old version – also the recommended PHP version for WordPress is 7.2.0

I’d actually recommend you update both. MySQL 5.0 has many know vulnerabilities. If your host is charging you to upgrade to MySQL 5.6 you should ask that they upgrade the server to MySQL 5.7 I don’t think it is possible to upgrade MySQL 5.0 to either 5.6 or 5.7 – they would have to backup your database – remove 5.0 install 5.6 or 5.7 and upload your data and hope for the best. Hopefully they have it wrong and it is MySQL 5.5

    Regards
    Steve
