    Hello,

    Autoptimize doesn’t work on custom page templates since 2.4.0. The problem isn’t solved after updateing to 2.4.1.

    When I rollback to 2.3.4 the pages are compressed again.
    Autoptimize seems to ignore all custom page templates.

    Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be?
    Thanks!

    hey wilmers;
    new tot me. let’s start with some questions;
    * are you referring to “custom page templates” or “custom page types”?
    * is there no optimization at all (HTML, JS, CSS)?
    * can you share a URL of a page which does and one that does not get optimized?
    * is there any error in your PHP errorlog?

    Hello Frank,

    Thank you for the quick reply!
    – Custom page templates. Like a custom homepage template. Autoptimize does work correctly on the default page.php and also other templates like category.php and single.php.
    – No, autoptimize seems to ignore pages with a custom template completely.
    – Can I somehow message you this directly?
    – Not anymore. There were 2 errors, but I corrected them before I posted this question. Unfortunately this didn’t solve it.

    follow-up; AO bailed due to the opening html-tag missing and the doctype html not being on the first line (which was a blank). fixed locally by changing template + AO 2.4.2 will not require the doctype to be on the very first line.

    thanks for reporting & your support (and patience) @wilmers! ??
