Not working on single.php files

    I am looking for a solution to get this plugin working on single.php page as I have a most popular section in my theme which features recommended posts.

    I want these recommended posts to have excerpt as well but does not apply the default excerpt length to those posts. Even with the wordpress function (the_excerpt();).

    Is there some configuration I can do in the plugin folder to extend functionality to single.php or am I missing something here.
