Not working with Google NoCaptcha Recaptcha in 4.4.1 (Failed to send error)

  • Hi Guys

    I’m getting the orange version of the “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.” error in CF7 now with WordPress 4.4.1

    I have set a from email and to email manually,anmd these are email addresses on the domain.

    If I remove the Google NoCaptcha Recaptcha entry from the form (<p>[recaptcha recaptcha-383 id:1]</p>) then it works fine and sends OK. If I have it in there, even though the form validates, I receive the error.

    So it looks like there’s an issue with Google NoCaptcha Recaptcha and CF7 in WordPress 4.4.1

    Has anyone experienced this and been able to fix it?

    Note that Google NoCaptcha Recaptcha used in another plugin “WP reCaptcha Integration” to add a captcha to registration forms, works OK, so it seems to just be the integration between CF7 and Google NoCaptcha Recaptcha

    In the WordPress ReCaptcha Integration plugin page, it says

    As of version 4.3 CF7 comes with its own recaptcha. Both are supposed to work together. I you want to keep the WP ReCaptcha functionality, e.g. if you want to hide the captcha from known users, leave the integration in the CF7 settings unconfigured.

    Make sure Contact > Integration > reCAPTCHA is not configured.

    If I disable WordPress ReCatpcha Integration so the login/registration forms dont have a captcha field, this has no effect on the issue with CF7. CF7 with Recaptcha, and WordPress ReCatpcha Integration, were both working fine together until recently. It seems only since WordPress 4.4.1 that the CF7 form is failing spam validation.
    Are there other steps you recommend I try to identify the issue?
