Not working with More Privacy Options Plugin

I’m super-admin, plus I’m added as a user to all child sites, but since installing MPO and setting sites to private, nothing gets displayed in Network Latest Posts. Looking at the code I see that posts must be set to ‘Public’, which I guess is why even registered users aren’t seeing the posts on the parent site (where NLP widget is located). Any way round this? Pulling posts where the user on parent site is also on the child site? My PHP is too limited I’m afraid!
