• Hello,
This is just a heads up that, on my end at least (WP version 4.7.25, plugin version: 3.0.4), the fetching/finding does not recognise ANY album created of Facebook page after at least April 26 2022. In order to circumvent this, I need to manually enter the ‘HTML magic tag’ into a WP page text box, with a corresponding Facebook album ID, and only then it will populate the contents (render the page with the gallery of the album). However, it will never actually FIND it under the WP Settings > FB Photo Fetcher > Utilities > Search for Albums.

I get that this is due to Facebook forever changing the layout of their Facebook Pages architecture/settings.

    Note to www.ads-software.com developers:
please, for THE LOVE OF CHRIST, remove the Guttenberg attrocity from the WordPress plugin Support comment box?

Thanks for the report – yeah, I’m aware that Pages are no longer working well. I’ve reported it to Facebook, and in typical fashion, they’ve simply ignored it.

Unfortunately, although I’ve spent years rewriting things over & over as they change & deprecate & move things, it’s just become impossible to keep up with their seemingly endless breaking changes. Most of my time with this plugin these days is spent behind the scenes responding to their endless “platform review” demands (they e-mail every few months asking to do things like give their “reviewers” admin access to demo sites, answer long lists of questions regarding data usage, provide demo videos, agree to lengthy terms, even get on zoom calls) – all for the privilege of not having API access cut off. It’s simply no longer possible for me to spend time fixing anymore, given that essentially all of my “plugin time” is now chewed up jumping through their other policy-related hoops.

Based on your description, it does sound like you’re still able to fetch page albums by directly finding the id via other means (just not able to search for them). If you have an easy solution, I can add a descriptive blurb to the admin panel the next time I post an update (about how you find those ids, for the benefit of other users). But unfortunately, I don’t really see myself spending time trying to fix search again, as Facebook has just taken all the joy out of development, & each time I’ve done so, they simply break it again a few months later anyway.

Sorry, I know it’s not the greatest answer. I had a lot of fun making this plugin >10 years ago, but in the past few years especially, the Facebook platform has become an utter nightmare.
