• Hi..
I am just writing here for the record.
Easy WP SMTP is still not working with PHP 7.4.
I tried in many ways, but I only got it to work by switching to PHP7.3

What is the future with this issue..?

    The server is LiteSpeed/NGINX.
    Latest WP and plugin versions.
Also tried disabling all other plugins, but issue persisted.

Hi, can you provide any error messages you are receiving? This would help the developers investigate further your issue.

    Thank you

It just installed PHP 7.4.3 on Ubuntu 18.04 (using ppa:ondrej/php) with Apache and fresh WP install. Installed Easy WP SMTP plugin and it’s working just fine out of the box.

I guess there might be some issues with your PHP 7.4 or server configuration.

We are having the same problem – Easy WP SMTP plugin does not work with PHP 7.4.

When sending test mail with PHP 7.3 everything works, but when sending test mail with PHP 7.4 Iwe get the following error:

Following error occurred when attempting to send test email:
    Invalid address: (setFrom) [email protected]

The address is correct, only difference i PHP version.

We did activate debug logging, but the log is absolutely empty…

    Any ideas?

    Hi.

Which OS your server is running on? E.g. Ubuntu 18.04, CentOS 7 etc.

Also, which PHP version is used? E.g. 7.4.3 or some other?

    Hi,

CloudLinux with CentOS and PHP 7.4.1.

    Any assistance would be appreciated!

Anyone that has the sameproblem and has any ideas regarding how to solve this?

xamdax, I remember reading this might be related to your issue with CloudLinux and PHP 7.4.1.

    https://www.cloudlinux.com/forum/forum11/email-using-php-7-4-not-working

I was researching this topic while on project development with Go programming, not using this plugin. On the other hand, 7.4 did caused issue for one of my dev’s WordPress plugin, doing an upgrade to PHP runtime would solve it but can’t determine if it will indirectly broke other plugins. Site backup is always recommended.
