I love the idea behind this plugin, but unfortunately it does not appear to be working on my sites. I have it set to Universal Analytics tracking code and I am using Studio Press Genesis.

I do not see any evidence of the following in the source code as mentioned in an early reply about Genesis.
<!–End Real Time on Site and Bounce Rate –>

    Hi Brad,

I have rewritten the plugin to a more advanced version that also works with analytics.js and the evidence you are looking for is not there anymore. The early reply you read was from before the update to the current version.

Right now, the evidence that this plugin is working can be found at the bottom of the source code page. When you are using analytics.js the line of code that the plugin adds should end with: /wp-content/plugins/reduce-bounce-rate/js/analyticsjs.js'>. You can read more under the FAQ tab of the plugin page.

Please let me know if you found the line and if this reply worked for you. In case it doesn’t, please send me the url of your website. I’ll be happy to help you out.

    Hey Okoth1,

Thank you for your quick reply.

That line of code is there.

I can’t figure out why my bounce rate hasn’t improved then. It’s only been a few days since I installed your plugin though. How long does it usually take to show some significant improvement? And do you have any suggestions?

    I greatly appreciate your help.

    Hi Brad,

Your bounce rate should drop after a day or even the same day. But it also depends on how high your bounce rate was before using the plugin. If it was already let’s say 23%, it could technically drop a bit. If you bounce rate is above 70% then you should see a big difference.

What kind of a website do you have? Do you change anything on the Settings page? Have you changed anything on you Analytics settings page?

If you want you can send your url to [email protected], then I can have a look, but if the code is there it should be OK. UNLESS the plugin line comes before the Analytics tracking code…

Okoth1, FYI: I tried sending my URL to the email address you provided above, but it did not go through and come back with an error message.

The bounce rate on all my sites has improved dramatically! Thanks to your outstanding plugin.

I’m so sorry. I just saw the misspelled email address. The t and the o should be the other way around.

Glad it worked out for you in the end.

No worries about the email address.

It worked out very well. I’m very pleased. Thank you!
