Hi, the plugin is working OK with the widget areas that our theme includes by default.

But we created 2 additional widget areas (using functions.php) and they don’t appear in the configuration options of your plugin (in the sidebar location popup), only the default widget areas appear and can be selected.

Well, the truth is that they appear when I open that configuration popup (while it’s still loading), but when it’s fully loaded the plugin (or something else) hides them and only shows the default widget areas.

Not sure if it’s a bug, if it works that way for some reason or if the problem is related to how we created our additional widget areas.

We would appreciate any help or guidance. Thanks!

  • Hi @migueltic

    I hope you’re well today!

As long as your those widget areas are showing uip in the “Theme Sidebars” section on “Appearance -> Widgets” page (and if they are “full features sidebars” added via “functions.php” file, they would) – they can be used with Custom Sidebars.

It’s important, though, to make sure that the option “Allow this sidebar to be replaced” is enabled for them.

Therefore, take a look at the “Theme Sidebars” column on “Appearance -> Widgets” page. If you can see your widget areas listed there, make sure that aforementioned option is enabled for each of them.

After that you should be able to use them.

If this didn’t solve the issue for you or is not the case, could you please share example code that you’re using to add those widget areas to the site and also let us know what theme are you using on site?

    Best regards,
    Adam
