    Hiya,

So far, it sounds like things are working as they should, when entering Troubleshooting Mode your current user will see the site as if you had no plugins enabled and your theme was a default one (one of the themes with names starting with “Twenty”).

You can either disable it via the admin bar menu (top of the screen), or by logging out and back in again.

In this case plugin should give 2 or 3 Warnings about it. Imagine a user just wanting to try it out, after installing the only link nearby is trobleshooting mode. Then all goes just away and the user is in panic.

Just a little bit imagination and empathy would be enough.

I also don’t see what this plugin does.No setting, no reports. When I click Trubleshooting nearby to one plugin it ist nothing to see.

    Bad, really bad work ;(

We do actually have texts explaining what troubleshooting does, when you go to the Troubleshooting Mode page under Health Check in the menu, it has 3 paragraphs explaining what it does and how it functions before you click the enable button ??

The plugin lets you look for plugin conflicts, if your site isn’t operating as it should (strange errors, features not working etc), it allows you to run the site with limited functionality on a single user to test and find out what plugin or theme might be causing you issues in the first place.

We’re always happy to get feedback on how we can improve those processes though (granted, multiple warnings for an action won’t be added, that just makes using the feature tedious if you need to click through multiple boxes just to use it, it’s a bad experience, but would love to explore other options). Could you take us through the steps you did after enabling the plugin so we can see if there’s a better flow to consider?

My workflow was very simple. After panic I was looking Support to get rid of this mode and to write a bad opinion ;(
You could appreciate that so many users trust your plugin without reading before sites of text. Just by installing and testing.
I am sure over the half of users, as me too, is doing so, that is the result of your 1 stars ratings.

Placing a link for this mode directly by plugin (where every one is intuitively looking first for settings) will ruine your maybe even good job.

First, thank you for taking the time to look it over with me, I greatly appreciate that!

I see what screen you are on about, I must admit I had not considered that you are brought back to the plugin list like this after clicking the activate button, that is definitely a flow we should be improving!

I thought you had gone to the “Dashboard > Health Check” page, where we do have some explanatory texts, so this makes perfect sense then. There are changes to the plugin screen planned for the next version, so I’ll make sure that this consideration is included in those changes.

No one is looking in Dashboard for settings of new installed plugin ??
Yours is the the first one of 100s which I have seen.
All look by settings, tools or a standalone entry ??

    Maybe in further version.

Absolutely, we wanted to keep a “low profile”, as it’s not a plugin that requires options and such, but i can see how we missed this scenario in our attempt to keep things simple.

I’ve added your observations to the list of things that will be addressed for version 1.2.0.
