• I just activated the WP Super Cache on a GoDaddy-hosted WordPress site — all versions and plugins were up-to-date. The site does use a static page as the front page, and does use the permalink format your faq called out as a problem.

I did the “easy” activate, pushed the test button, and kaflooey, the entire site was gone. Just white pages, including the WordPress dashboard, so I could not deactivate Super Cache.

I had to take the Super Cache plugin out manually via FTP (thanks for the instructions on that, BTW!), and edit the wp-config file to remove the Super Cache database call.

What I did not have to change was the htaccess file. Might the problem have been that the htaccess file did not get rewritten as needed? I might be willing to try again if I had the code the htaccess file needs to enter it manually.
