    Hi,

I’ve mapped the fields OK. I then go to the “Import” tab, click “Choose File”, browse to my CSV file, click “Load”… and nothing happens, the label next to the “Choose File” button returns to “No File Chosen”.

I’ve tried using the sample CSV file included in the plugin. I’ve tried adding the manage_stock field.

Any suggestions, any ways of turning on any debugging or logging?

    Thanks, Scott

    Hi Aggrable,

I dont know what he did yet. I gave him admin access to my site and emailed him some sample csv files. He posted above that he set up a correct header and that did the trick, however I didn’t have any problems setting up the header before.

I tried uploading products again using his header setup and it still didn’t work. So I don’t know what he did that different to what I’m doing..yet.

i set up a correct header, that’s all i did.

for your info, i use latest chrome on a mac. Also tried it with FF and Safari, no problem as well…

The only difference then is I’m on Windows 7

I took a look at the article that was supposed to talk about how to set up a header and I’m still unclear… You said “you can use your normal CSV file to upload at the header part. Link your fields to the right columns and your done”. Uploading the CSV is what I’m having trouble with… I’m on the “header” tab and I upload the CSV. It tells me “I think you have the wrong seperator”.

Did you save the data file as a comma separated file? If so then the
separators should be commas, not semi colons. Make sure you’re not
trying to upload a .xls or a .xlsx. It should be a .csv

    Hi Allaerd,

I notice that the products you imported to my site – they have the “sale” icon in the corner. Which field set the sales flag, because I dont remember setting any. Perhaps that is connected to the problem?

(Its probably not connected, but Im getting desparate with no ideas left. I’ve looked in the error_log file and there’s no errors)

    Allaerd,

Can we not set this thread to resolved please, as its not resolved yet. I appreciate the effort so far, but Im still not working.

    Thanks, Scott

Bythes: it is a CSV. The original file is at https://www.grablegraphics.com/Categories_74V94W6D22.csv (will be uploaded shortly)

OK. I went to my original document, which I have replaced at https://www.grablegraphics.com/Categories_74V94W6D22.csv and it allows me to set up the header (basically I had to click on “skip” next to everything but the column labeled “category”). It set up the header correctly (I assume) and then I go to “import”. I import the same file (right?) and it does the exact same thing (the “choose file” box is blank and no categories show up). Please advise.

I having the same problem. I able to create a header file but when I go to import it does nothing.

I’ve sent an email to Allaerd just to make sure that they know that this issue is not yet resolved and that we need to continue to work together to get through it. Watch here for more responses (hopefully). ??

I don’t want to add a bad review to this product, but it doesn’t seem to work for me and we don’t seem to be getting any resolution. I’ve set up my CSV with the column titles exactly as it says in the FAQ’s, set up the header correctly, went to import, it was “thinking” about it for about 5-6 seconds, appears to have done something. When I go to products, there’s nothing there. Allaerd, please help. Thank you.

    Hi Allaerd, Aggrable,

I’ve tried it again from a different PC. This time Windows XP running Chrome, IE and FireFox.

Unfortunately they all behave the same as Windows 7 versions of Chrome, IE and FireFox. I know its not the web server, as Allaerd uploaded fine to my site from his client.

I can therefore only assume that this product is only compatible with Mac OS, and that it uses some Mac implementation of AJAX or some file transfer protocol or something that doesnt exist the same on the Windows platform.

Shame, as this did what I want, and I would have purchased the upgrade for custom fields after I had got it working.

As it is, looks like I am going to have to pay out for the (expensive) WooThemes version of the importer, unless you guys know of any other alternatives you could point me to please?

    Hi Allaerd, Aggrable,

I’ve switched to the following alternative importer, which is also free.

Allaerd, if anything changes which makes you think your solution will work again for me, please let me know and I’ll be happy to test it. I’d be happy to switch back to your product at a later date.
