• Had the blog up and running for years, never got around to changing the site icon.

I just tried now, and got as far as uploading the image. However, when I click the Select button on the pop-up where you choose the image (same one as when you insert an image into a blog post), the panel on the right that shows you the image preview and allows you to set title, etc goes blank (like it is before you choose an image) and the Select button is disabled. It seems that the image I selected was deselected.

If I click the image again, the preview appears in the panel, but when I click the Select button, it goes blank again.

Anyone any idea what’s going wrong and how I fix it? Thanks

This problem may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to deactivate all plugins and switch to the default Twenty Twenty-Three theme. If the problem goes away, re-activate them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to deactivate all plugins and change the theme for you while you’re still logged in without affecting normal visitors to your site.
