• Nothing seems to be working in my wordpress admin area.

When in the Dashboard, if I click the “Screen Options” or “Help” buttons nothing happens.

If I try to edit any of my pages (which have content) the Visual/Text editor box appears blank and it won’t let me click in it or type into it. Same thing happens when I try to create a page.

I am a very newbie user and just have no idea what to do.

    thanks

  • Hi Nancy,

this sounds like a javascript problem that might be related to a plugin.

In order to troubleshoot javascript problems, you will need to take a look at any errors that show up in your browser’s console. Most browsers have an “inspector” with the error console built-in. Simply right click anything in your wordpress admin panel and select “inspect element” or something similar. Then you should have a tab called “console” that you can select. Once clicked you’ll have some errors in red.

If any errors show you can copy them here and we can take a look at it.

You could also deactivate all plugins and re-activate one after the other to find out which one is the culprit.

I have de-activated all of my plugins and activated default theme TwentyThirteen and still not working.

I have gone to the “console” tab described but don’t have any errors in red.

Can you activate debug mode and post errors here if you see them?

    read about debug mode here
