• Hi,

I installed the plugin to create a dependency for one of my products. The plugin itself seems to work but the notice that users get when trying to add to cart a product they’re not supposed to is displayed at the complete top of the screen, above the top menu, making it unreadable and breaking my theme. Do you know how I could move it back to the main frame? I don’t know where it is supposed to appear normally but I’m sure it’s not there.

Appreciate any help to find a fix if possible.

    Thanks a lot

    Hey @nickpetersres,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I took a look at this product: https://www.realestatespreadsheets.com/product/upgrade-rental-property-analysis-spreadsheet-advanced-to-pro/ and indeed noticed that the dependency notice shows up at the top of the page — in my local site where the Storefront theme is active, this is where I see this notice: https://share.getcloudapp.com/Apu9N4j4.

Product Dependencies uses the WooCommerce core wc_add_notice() function to add and display notices. Each theme, though, styles these notices in a unique way.

Can you please temporarily switch your active theme back to a default WordPress theme (such as Twenty Twenty One) or the WooCommerce core compliant Storefront theme and let me know if you see the same issue there?

To avoid causing any problems to your live site, the best way to do this would be to try setting up a staging site, for example using a plugin such as WP Staging or Duplicator — and then troubleshoot the issue on the staging site.

Note that some hosts provide a Control Panel option for creating development/staging sites easily — if you are not sure about this, it might be worth asking your host as this is definitely the easiest and fastest way to do it.

Let me know what you find out!

Thanks for the feedback Jason. I temporarily switched my theme to Twenty Twenty one and here’s where the alert appears:

Still seems weird to me, isn’t it?

    Thanks

    Hey @nickpetersres,

    Thanks for trying that!

This notice should appear above the product’s title and under the site’s default navigation menu like so: https://share.getcloudapp.com/YEuOdJe9.

Taking a look at the screenshot you shared, I noticed that there isn’t a navigation menu there so the notice appears almost at the top of the page. Do you perhaps use a page builder to configure how the product pages look like?

To see how product pages look like by default, I suggest to:

    • keep the Twenty Twenty One theme active and;
    • deactivate all other plugins except for WooCommerce and Product Dependencies.

Can you please try that and let me know where the notice shows up then?

    Cheers,
