• I’ve just used the automatic upgrade feature to upgrade from 2.7.1 to 2.8.4.

I now have this error on widget panel.

Notice: Undefined index: filter in –full path–\wp-includes\default-widgets.php on line 383

I googled this error and I found it on a lot of blogs.

When I did the upgrade I got a FastCGI error and the maintence text was in place. I had to remove the .maintenance file. However, WP seemed to be OK.

I’ve now done a manual upgrade and the error remains.

I had a look at the code and found it was related to text links.

So I had a look at my text widget. I don’t have a title set. So I added a space and the error has disappeared ??

Right, that adds an underline style.

So I removed the space and the underline goes and the error is still gone ??
