Wordpress have now sent me two notifications of errors on my site: “Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.
In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, 10Web YouTube.”
I have checked my site and all is working fine. There are no errors listed on Dashboard.
Here is the text of the email:
    “Howdy!

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, 10Web YouTube.

First, visit your website (https://www.martinjohnsoncommunications.com.au/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://www.martinjohnsoncommunications.com.au/wp-login.php) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

    Thanks Martin

  • Hi,

    Please navigate to plugins\wd-youtube\update\updates.php file, search for public function check_for_update() and before it write return false;

Please let us know if the information helps.

    Thank you!

    Have a nice day!

    Hi,
I’ve had the same notifications several times now. Tried going to the page you suggested but I cannot find it. Any other way to resolve this?

I had my WordPress host (Bluehost) check my site for any errors and they said it was all working as it should and I should ignore these emails.

    Hi,

@yvocaro please note that you can find the file via FTP connection. Please check the following screenshot.

    Thank you!

Thanks for your reply, however I am not sure how to access the file structure behind my site and hence navigate to the file you mentioned. Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,

Please contact your hosting server and ask them to provide FTP credentials. Afterwards, you should download Filezilla and connect your files via this tool.

    Thank you!

    Have a nice day!

I have looked in the folder you note above but there are only three items:

    folder: images
    file: style.css
    file: ytwd_update.php

No file exists there as updates.php.

I’m getting the same error message and am wondering if it is linked to a couple of other plugins not working about the same time I last updated this plugin.

Thanks for any help. I’m willing to uninstall completely and reinstall but would rather fix it without having to set up a dozen playlists manually again.

    Hi,

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

    Please check the following record.

Let me know if it helps.

    Thank you!

    Have a nice day!

I believe I am receiving the same error from WordPress. I have followed all of your recommendations. The Updates.php in the directory (actually in any of the directories) doesn’t exist.

I even download a separate copy fo the plugin and searched and updates.php doesn’t exist in the latest download.

Any other ideas to remove the error? Or if this is the same issue?

    Thanks in advance.

Current: WP 5.2, WD-Youtube Version 1.0.25, Godaddy Hosting, PHP 7.3

    Details of error

    Hi,

Please navigate to Youtube WD > Settings and set up No for Facebook Open Graph Markup. This will help to solve the issue with the error.
Please note that this problem will be fixed in our upcoming versions.

    Thank you!

    Have a nice day!

@kimabaghdasaryan, Good Morning and thank you for responding. I went into the site and checked the setting. It was already set to no. Though I reset and reapplied the setting to no. I will wait patiently to see if I get another email from 5.2 ??

Thank you again. Have a brilliant day!

@kimabaghdasaryan Thanks for your help. Do you need to do this every time the theme is updated, since i can’t find this file in the child theme. Thanks in advance, Jessie

    Dear Jessie,

We’ll fix this issue in general with our new update during 2-3 weeks. You have changed the settings from YouTube plugin so I think updating your theme will not cause any issue.

Well, I guess the thing to do is wait for the update, because that file does not exist anywhere on my site (updates.php). Only an image folder, style.css and ytwd_update.php are in that folder. I hope the update takes that into consideration. Looking forward to it, as I love this plugin!
