Notifications from Contact Form Plugins

I have tried several contact form plugins which offer to send an email notification to my email address when someone completes the form. The emails are not able to get to my email address from any of these plugins. That makes me wonder if there is a setting either in WordPress or my host that needs to be managed to allow this to happen. Or, is there one contact form plugin that is known to overcome this problem. Any suggestions are welcome.
