Novice seeking tips

  • I am having some major issues and perhaps someone who use to be a novice can give me some tips. Okay, so it’s my issue: After downloading theme, I went to my wp-admin to Appearance, click Install Theme and upload. After a few minutes, it stated package could not be installed, due to missing the style. css style sheet. I have read in other forum to unzip package, I did state I was a novice. I am fully aware of my ignorance. Any suggestions?

    Try installing the theme, not from your computer, but from WordPress Themes.

    Login to your WP and go to: Appearance > Themes
    There are 2 tabs at the top – choose “Install Themes”
    Don’t “upload”, rather type the name of the theme into the search box and hit “search”
    Several themes may show up, but select the one you want by selecting “Install Now” under the chosen theme.
    The theme will install automatically.

    If you get the same error, then there is a problem with that particular theme.

    Thanks Dave for trying to help. I appreciate it! I tried searching for it but wasn’t able to find it. I guess I will have to wait for the WP author to get back to me.
