Now all locations are created again even if they exist!!!

Some remarks:

– you don’t post any info concerning settings, fb url, fb location etc … so quite difficult to analyze
– you are shouting, not polite (certainly not in the header)
– based on previous posts (I’m so polite as to look into older posts) I see that some of your facebook locations in fact have problems: they don’t have a facebook id (so I can’t skip based on that) and don’t provide any latitude/longitude coordinates (so I can’t skip based on that). It only contains a name (not even address info), and that poses a problem. I’m almost there as to ignore locations like that in the sync.

Currently, there’s a small fix in EME for empty location coordinates:

Next to that, you need to set the sync setting to check the name. But still: if you in any way touch the location in EME afterwards, it will be a problem again since it won’t match (EME will detect the correct coordinates and if those don’t match with the empty ones from fb – which of course it won’t – it will again create a new location the next sync).

The correct thing to do is to correct those locations in facebook (enter address info).

I need these setting because I have added pictures, phone numbers, text, logotypes and many more things to locations. I also have some location that is not facebook location that have same name. This have been working perfectly for two years time but now it’s not.

Again, read my answer (and apply the mentioned fix). It’s only some of your locations that have this. If you provide in facebook only a name for a location, then this WILL happen. Period.
Go in facebook and correct the location info, or don’t provide one at all.
The locationed mentioned in this event has a problem because it only has a name:

But please Franky the location sync worked fine before. So something must have changed. I can also see other new thread on this issue. I have stopped all sync until this is fixed else I will end up with hundreds of duplicate locations.

Wait a minute … I think I see something. There are 2 settings in FB-sync:
– Use coordinates for locations
– Use name for locations (which in fact uses name+address info)

The second one uses a function that comes from EME (not the FB sync plugin) called eme_get_identical_location_id. That function used to ignore coordinates (which was wrong) and got corrected in EME.
But in this case it should ignore these coordinates anyway, since that is what is desired … I need to create a new function etc …

Is it safe to uninstall the plug-in and then reinstall this version without loosing all Facebook pages?

I have 287 Facebook pages so I don’t want to add them again?

Edit: you can safely replace your version with the dev-one. EME itself is not impacted.
Edit 2: just replace the files (in fact it is only 1 file that needs replacing: the 1 php file). Copy it over and you should be good to go.

Hi Franky! Looks like we are back on track. I tested sync with button and it works. I will now try with cron sync
