• I installed this plugin, tried it, didn’t change any directory structure, then deleted the plugin. Now all my media defaults to the 2017/05 folder (when I first installed the plugin). I reinstalled it today on the advice of a more experienced WP user, used the Reset plugin, then deactivated and deleted both plugins, and still have the same problem. So sorry I ever installed it.

I just want my media upload directory format back to normal. I’ve doublechecked the wp-config file and the .htaccess file and nothing there.

Media Library Folders does not change or interfere with how the WordPress Media Library works. It is possible to change the location of the Uploads folder as described here, https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Editing_wp-config.php#Moving_uploads_folder, but Media Library Folders does not make any modifications to the wp-config.php file. Check the other plugins installed at your site, one of them may be responsible for this issue.

There’s nothing in the wp-config file. No other plugins have been added – this was the last one.

    sandrajay,

This issue has never been reported before. Media Library Folders does not change the location of your uploads folder.

I suggest if you have a backup of your site’s database, you try restoring it.
