• Hi – about a month ago I put this message in this forum:

Hi?I inherited this website last year and it has your pro plugin installed with the licence number in the site.
The client has noticed that if they search for the company name on google two of the pages show up with the titles as ‘Part’ then a seven digit number. If you click on the title it takes you to a page on the site (e.g. about page) but on the end of the url the number is there e.g. domain.co.uk/about/number/.
The about page doesn’t have any child pages and I can’t work out whether this is an SEO issue or a security issue.
Would it be possible to point me in the right direction.
    Thanks

    You replied:

That’s caused by WP, not AIOSEOP. and marked the message a resolved.

Maybe it is, but a month later I’m still getting the same problem, have tried numerous fixes including deleting the url from the database, deleting the cache, I even contacted google who helpfully told me that if I found the source of the problem I could solve it!! Needless to say I still haven’t found the source.

However, I’ve come full circle back to AIOSEOP. and looked at the settings again (after some research on google). I’ve now ticked the boxes for no index and no follow on paginated pages.

What I’d like to know from you is do you think this will work and whether it’s the solution?

I’m not familiar with AIOSEOP and got this tip from endless googling the problem….

    Thanks for any reply

I’m not sure why you opened a new thread. This is a duplicate of https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/numbers-appearing-after-url-in-google/

If you’re a customer, you should be using the Pro support forums at https://semperplugins.com/support/.

    1. I started a new thread as you had marked the previous message as resolved.

    2. As I said I inherited the website. It has the licence number in the dashboard, but is starred out. I have no login for the pro support forums even though the site has pro AIOSEOP installed.

Considering this is the only experience I have of AIOSEOP (I usually use Yoast), and was interested to find out the difference between Yoast and your plugin (which was better etc.), and the fact that I discovered the nofollow and noindex information from the Yoast blog (by googling the problem), I can’t say I’m impressed by the answers I’ve got from you.

First you blame wordpress – could you expand on that – have you come across this problem before, do you think it’s a conflicting plugin, is it wordpress itself (I’ve not had this problem on any other site), could it be the database etc.

    Then you refer me elsewhere.

Are you able to answer the question or am I back to square one again?

As you can see from what I’ve said, I’m trying to eliminate possible causes and to find out whether ticking the nofollow or noindex pagninate pages could be the root of the problem.

A simple yes or no would suffice please…

    Thank you in advance…

The un-resolve it and don’t create duplicate topics. This one is getting closed.

If you are looking for “pro” support then you can’t ask in these forums. As the author is aware and indicated, commercial products aren’t supported here. That’s not allowed.
