Number Field Visibility Bug

Creating an application (order) form for my consulting business (migrating from a different forms editor), and the Number field has a bug:

if I add a Visibility rule to any of the Number fields used in Calculation, they acquire an automatic default value of 1 and create a minimum order total despite what should be a “0”, and the default value and minimum value both being manually set to “0” in the field settings.
If the Visibility rule is removed, however, the calculations are correct.

Is there a way to resolve this? I could, theoretically, leave all fields visible, but it makes the form clunky.
