Number of Pages Detected by Google Do Not Match My Sitemap

Thanks for reaching out. I’ve addressed your concerns below:

Today if I enter “site:www.andrea-rinaldi.it” on Google I only find the homepage

I confirmed only your homepage shows in search results

However, I have always noticed that when I send the sitemap to search console it detects 1,229 pages

I recommend removing previous sitemaps and only re-submit your sitemap_index then montior the results for a couple of weeks

A lot of time has passed, I have done all the possible tests but I can’t figure out how to solve it. I hope I can get everything back.

Pick one of the posts in your sitemap and run live URL inspection in Google Search Console and share the results with us.

good morning i was inactive because i was waiting for answers from google. i confirm that to date the problem has not been solved. can you help me?

So the problem is always the same. I deleted and inserted the sitemap_index.xml on Search Console and 1,229 urls always appear (it surely refers to a google cache).
At this point I inserted the "sub maps" and the number of urls is detected correctly.

In the meantime I tried to inspect an article and this appears:

You mentioned all the pages are properly appearing in the Yoast SEO sitemap, however Google Search Console shows a large number of URLs.

When I check the page “fedi-fermi-scuola-piu-imprenditoriale-ditalia-2024-e-vincitrice-tes-awards”, I noticed the robots meta tag is showing “index, follow” from the page source. Similarly for the about me page, the robots meta tag is showing “index, follow”. This confirms that the pages are set to be crawled and indexed. Please check the screenshots here and here. These URLs are appearing in the Yoast SEO sitemap as well.

So, as next step, I would like to suggest you to check Google Community support to learn more on why Google Search Console shows 1,229 URLs after submitting the sitemap.
