Number of posts on index and categories

  • Hey,

    I’ve been using WordPress for a while now, and one thing bothers me that I can’t solve.

    On my index I’ve set it up (from the administration) so it shows only 2 posts on the index. Here’s the index with two posts per page.

    This changes the posts in categories to only 2 per page. Categories page here

    I now want to change the index to show only 1 post (I can do this through the administration), but the categories to show 2 or 3 posts.

    Is there a code I could use for controlling how much posts/articles can I have on the category pages?

    Still kinda confused here, trying playing with displaying the monthly code, didn’t quite work.

    Plugin. Search, google for CQS (=custom query string) plugin.

    Thanks, Matt’s custom query string plugin works perfectly.

    I didn’t know what to look for, thanks again.

    That CQS plugin stopped working with WordPress 2.3 where the the whole category system has been reworked. The UTW plugin also became obsolete since in this version the developers introduced WP’s own tagging system.
