    I first noticed this on my site, but I have since noticed it on the wordpress forums also. It doesn’t do this in Firefox…

    are you talking about the frontend (your blog) or the backend (the admin). If it is your frontend, this is theme related and there CSS related. You can fix it on your own by disabling CSS Stylesheets in your browser (not really recommended but it will give you the proof that it outputs 12 not 2).

    To resolve your problem you need to make the theme you use compatible with your browser. As written, this can be done by modifying the CSS of the theme you use. I guess it is margin related to a li elements of the sidebar.
