In editing mode it seems to work fine, but during live preview H4 shows as a parent heading of another H4.

    Here’s the live preview. 2.1.1 should be 2.2 & 2.1.2 should be 2.3.

Now, this is during the edit. It shows H4 as a separate H4, not as a part of the above H4.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello there,

Thank you for letting me know of this.

In your case, there is a heading depth gap from H2 to H4, your tree looks like this:

    • H2
    • H2
      • H4
      • H4
      • H4
    • H2

For best results, it is recommanded not to skip a heading depth between a parent and a child. Ideally there should not be a jump from H2 to H4, but from H2 to H3 instead.

However, Joli TOC has built-in mechanism to try to correct malformed heading trees and deal with “hidden headings”, but sometimes it can give unwanted results.

Nevertheless, I already have identified the issue you pointed out and I have already a fix for that. It will be deployed in the next update (coming soon).

If you don’t wanna wait, please send a message at [email protected] and I’ll give you directions so that you can modify the code directly on your install.

Hi, since v2.1.2, the heading hierarchy algorithm when hiding headings has been improved. Please update and let me know if you notice any improvement.

    Cheers !
