Numerous requests for entering User ID and Password

  • I am updating a page and want to view what the changes look like, so I preview or update and then click view page and when I try to return to keep editing I am requested to enter user ID and password. That would not be so bad but then it does not navigate back to the page I was working on but to the start page. Extremely frustrating and time consuming. I have tried in IE and FF but same issue.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
