• Hi there,
    I just installed the plugin for the first time and want to make the Social Publisher work. I followed these steps:
    1. A Facebook application identifier associated with MY-IDENTIFIER ?
    2. Associate an Open Graph action-object pair for your application: people can publish an article
    3. Authenticate with Facebook to allow your Facebook application to post to your Timeline or Page on your behalf when a post is published ?
    4. Publish an article to your Facebook Timeline
    5. Submit your Publish action for approval. Request optional capabilities: User Messages, Tags, Explicitly Shared

    So, I have been following step 1 – 4. I assume that in step 4 I’m supposed to create a wordpress post which in turn is supposed to be posted to my Facebook Timeline? When I did this I received the following messages in wordpress:

    Failed posting to your Facebook Timeline. Error: {“message”:”An unexpected error has occurred. Please retry your request later.”,”type”:”OAuthException”}

    Failed posting to MY PAGE Timeline. Error: {“message”:”(#1) An error occured while creating the share”,”type”:”OAuthException”}

    In the Plugin Settings -> Debugger I have two ? for admin “post to timeline” and “manage pages”. No sign of error there.

    Any Idea what the might cause this?

  • I have the exact same problem on my blog, I managed to make it post the link to the blog post a couple of times but normally it simply prints out that error message.

    Out of curiosity, which hosting provider are you using? I’m with 000webhost, and I’ve noted that they have a noticeable lag when accessing PHP functions (for instance, I couldn’t update my WordPress installation using the automated installer – I had to do it manually because the automated installer would just give up and not proceed!).

    thanks for your reply. That’s interesting. Yes I host on 000webhost too and noticed some lags here and there.

    Yeah, because I have made another post today and it was successfully published on my timeline, which leads me to think that it may have something to do with the script’s response time on the server, sometimes it will complete the operation within the timeout period, and other times it won’t!
