Object Cache and Database Cache?

What’s a database cache?

This Redis object cache is helping you reduce database queries.

W3TC has an option for Object Cache and a separate one for Database Cache. I’ve never really understood if one excludes the other, hence my question in case you had any experience with that.

Ah, their “database cache” is actually a page cache.

I’d use either object caching or page caching, to keep it simple and easy to debug, but can theoretically work together.

Well, not really?

W3TC has:

– Page cache
– Database cache
– Object cache
– Opcode cache (choose APC etc)
– Browser cache (just e-tag stuff etc)

Hence my confusion if their database cache would conflict with your object cache. It is quite un-intuitive to me
