• Look, maybe you’ll feel differently if you actually installed Jetpack because you wanted several of it’s many functions. I just want to be able to use the WooCommerce app, but what I get in return is the most obnoxious, bloated, spammy, intrusive plugin on the planet. It’s constantly just THERE, doing THINGS, asking me to upgrade, asking me to install extensions. JUST GET OUT OF MY WAY AND LET ME RUN MY BUSINESS.

    Also, it will add 700+ lines of CSS to the frontend of your site, whether or not you have enabled any features that require them. so here’s the snippet to correct that insult.

    add_filter( ‘jetpack_implode_frontend_css’, ‘__return_false’, 99 );

    Here’s the thing, I know I’m being harsh, and for all I know, all of these features might be absolutely great, but I will seek them out when the time comes. I don’t want to be repeatedly poked and prodded in the course of running my daily business into enabling some paid feature of your multi-tool of a plugin I never asked for anyway, and all it really does is make me want to go find a different service when I do need that functionality, because it leaves me with nothing but a bad taste in my mouth. I honestly would rather just carry a laptop, or do all my admin from the browser, and just uninstall the WooCommerce app. The only reason I deal with it at all is that the store manager really likes the app, but know that every other WooCommerce shop I work on doesn’t touch JetPack with a 99 and a half foot pole.

    To be fair, JetPack is really not unusual in the WordPress world as far as upsells, but it is certainly persistent when it comes to admin bar notifications, and its high up on the “I never asked for any of this” scale.
